Each word is chosen meticulously
And stitched to its proper phrasing.
Even the whitespace is treated
As a palette of color.
Everything: Punctuation; Indentation;
Paragraphs . . .
Debates–adverb, adjective, prepositional
Phrase, relative phrase, metaphor,
For any eye, ear, touch, taste,
Soul mind consciousness
Which consents to engage it.
How much of what you read
Do you remember a day later?
You understand . . . I only continue to write
To defy impermanence,
Though I face again and again
The dissolution of composition upon composition.
Even in death
Something sweet and cherished remains.
