Writing, An Apology — Addendum

“Words ought to be a little wild, for they are
the assault of thoughts on the unthinking.”
–John Maynard Keynes

Therefore we graced them with our voices,
Rode upon arc’ing, upon diving melodies,
Firmed the contours of the world–fascination
–And made no enmity in the phrasing . . .

  1. Michael, I read the first part of this poem as well. God, you plumb wore me out with all yer fancy poetizin’! No, really… I have to admit, I was almost flummoxed by this… word architecture. This fortress of language. And yet, I am always impressed with poets who delve deeply into the richness of the English language and wrangle it into a single corral. You, sir, are a fine poet and always an enjoyable read! Amy
