A Sort of Fairytale

The fairy said: “Your love is lost.”
The girl just couldn’t care.

The fairy said: “Your dreams are shot.”
The boy thought of nothing more.

The fairy said: “Your gold is sunk.”
The pirate sailed into the sun.

The fairy said: “Your fire is ash.”
The dragon devoured its tail.

Her gift was lost on minds
That magic couldn’t bind.

Words are not enough.
The fairy wilted and wept.
